Paul M. Jones, Interim Executive Director and Founder

Paul Jones founded Corporate & University Relations Group (CURG) in 2005 to assist universities (engineering, computer science, math and science departments) with establishing student-centered active learning throughout the undergraduate experience in collaboration with Strategic Corporate Partners that emphasize sponsored professional practice experiences for students that include rigorous senior design (capstone) projects. Highly successful service contracts have been completed with several universities including, Arizona State University Polytechnic, California State University-Los Angeles and University of California, Santa Cruz. Cal State Los Angeles received the prestigious Excellence in Engineering Education Collaboration Award from the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Corporate Member Council in 2012 for their Professional Practice Program.

Prior to founding CURG, Mr. Jones was the director of Corporate Relations at Harvey Mudd College from 2002-2006.

Specialties: Strategic Corporate Partnerships, Academic Year-long Professional Practice (Senior Design/Capstone) Programs, Student Managed Scholars Programs and internship programs including summer teen internships, including team internships, in collaboration with Strategic Corporate Partners.

L. Alex. Pranger, Interim CTO, COO

Mr. Pranger, a graduate of Harvey Mudd College, has extensive experience in engineering research and development from concept to prototype design in the areas of physiological monitoring, sensors, and medical support systems. He is fluent in software design in multiple languages and platforms as well as software architecture design. He has been extensively involved in the design, testing, and evaluation of the life science and emergency medical equipment projects.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Pranger had the responsibility to direct the engineering and quality operations as production of the the company’s ventilator products were improved to meet medical needs, parts changed to accommodate shortages in the world supply chain, and working with changing contract manufacturers to move from producing less that 50 units per week, to producing 12,000 units in 6 months and a total of 20,000 units over 9 months.

Mr. Pranger has had a substantial role in raising significant funding for technical development projects and been directly involved in the formation of 11 companies and foundations. Mr. Pranger is a co-inventor for 10 U.S. Patents.
